Suffolk Tango is a non-profit-making organisation building a vibrant Argentine Tango dancing community in Suffolk
Once you dance Argentine Tango you become intoxicated by the music and the special connection with your partner. Argentine Tango is an improvised dance where the man leads according to what he hears in the music, the lady feels as if she were one of the instruments. We mainly dance to the rich music from the Golden Age (1940s) of tango but we also like to include some contemporary music to broaden the appeal.
Here are some views about why Argentine tango is so special (its in English after the first 60 seconds):
We run classes in Martlesham and Ipswich we also run milongas (tango dance nights) in Ipswich and Stratford St Andrew and have regular practicas (practice sessions) in Martlesham Heath. We work closely with adjacent groups in Norfolk, Essex, Diss, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester and Cambridge.
You can start tango even if you have never done any dance before, many people join us after having done Ceroc, salsa, ballroom, swing, zumba, kizomba, bachata, latin or contemporary. In any case you will discover a dance like no other which will grow on you and hook you into its embrace. Click here for details of new beginner classes.
